Details: Posting this ad for my dad, he is selling a 1972 Porsche 914. Clean title. Strong, great running engine, has been converted to a Scat progressive carb. Only problem is the transmission and at this point we are not sure what the problem is. 1st gear does not engage, so you have to start in second. He and I and his mechanic tinkered with it on and off the past few years. My dad even bought a gear at one point, wasn´t it, etc., not sure what happened and he ended up losing interest in the car. According to his mechanic it might not even be the gear but rather the forks needing adjustment or replacement inside the tranny or a combination of that and the shifting linkage and clutch cable (clutch actuation is mechanical on these cars not hydraulic) It is not a rust bucket. Paint is there but the car needs overall restoration has a few dents. Previous owner installed a cool Porsche 916 front racing spoiler that will look great once someone finishes this car ( just type in porsche 916 on the internet too see what these spoilers look like, these spoilers cost about $200-250 new). Needs tires, has rollers that hold air to move around. Interior needs work.This is a great little project to strip out and make a great autocross racer or even sell the engine and transmission ( will fit vw buses) and swap in a small block V8 ( many people offer v8-swap kits or make your own , http://www.renegadehybrids.com/ ) and make yourself a hell of an auto cross car or drifter.
