BG 44k Fuel System Cleaner $97.15Last Major Service was 9/10/10 at 79242k - new tires, brakepads/rotors/hoses, LEFT inner/outer tie rods, wheel alignment,oil/filter change, 3 stage oil/fuel system flush $2037.96Another Major service was 8/5/10 at 79129k - new AC compressor, newgear shift lever and shift lever bushing, new driver side mirror.$1066.77These are the services that have been done since I have owned thiscar. I do have 5 more service records that are from 7/12/02 at 63111kto 4/13/09 at 78575k that add to about $1700. This includes new rearshocks, starter motor, fuel pump & relay, catalytic converter andexhaust gasket.Here are some of the things that need work. The clear coat on the hood and roof are fading. The AC relay needs to be replaced. When headlightsare active, the RPM gauge drops and stays on Zero. The ´Open Hatch´ button needs to be replaced as well. The front seats have tears in them,but the back seats are immaculate. That´s about it. Details: Up for sale is a well designed and prepared early Porsche 911 Drivers Education (DE), Autocross and race car. From its inception this car was set-up to be a durable and competitive car. This car started life as a short wheel based Porsche 912. Car was professionally stripped and dipped. During the course of the rebuilding phase the previous owner decided to convert the car to 1986 Carrera specifications, including converting the front nose to a short hood configuration and adding steel SC/Carrera flares in the rear. Car was then converted from a short wheel base (SWB) to a long wheel base (LWB). A custom well designed roll cage was then built to meet all sanctions specification, i.e. Porsche Club of America (PCA), Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) and etc with gusseting throughout for strength. Cage goes through front and rear bulk head and tied in to front and rear suspension points and B-pillar for rigidity. All bolt on body pieces were removed and replaced with lightweight fiberglass. Front and rear bumpers are IROC one piece units. Rear and side glass has been removed and replaced with lexan. The front windshield is the standard DOT glass. Other features are a removable steering wheel and Kirkey aluminum racing seats. This car is a turn key operation and needs nothing except for an enthusiastic driver. I have lots of additional parts that can be made available, e.g. extra set of Fuchs 16x7 and 16x9, duck tail, megaphones and etc. I also have a 24´ enclosed Haulmark trailer with lots of upgrades that can be made available. This car is a blast to drive. It has not seen any wheel to wheel combat or had any off road excursions. The car was built as a DE car for training purposes and has more than satisfied my needs. Typically I run in the Red and Black DE run groups with Zone 2 PCA clubs and the car has been very competitive against much newer and more powerful cars. I have competed very successfully in a couple of local PCA autocross events in the F prepared and modified class. My goal in building this car was to make it durable and as light as possible. The last time I weighed the car it came in at 1880 lbs. Even though this car is a race car it has not been abused or mistreated. I am selling this car because I don´t attend enough DE events to justify having a dedicated race car and I am looking to start another project sometime in the distant future. Details: This is a great machine @ $5400. I´ve had it 3.5 years and love to drive it. Baltic Blue Metalic. It is my daily driver since August when I sold our SUV. I have been getting 25MPG with it and it runs great. Yes, it has all the ailments of a classic Porsche such as the A/C does not work, compressor is stuck, but the clutch will engage. This has been my 4th 944, 2 new 2 used. Time for me to move to a Boxster or Cayman or just buy a more practical car. We have 3 sets of wheels to discus; standard dials 15´, twists 17´ and Cups 17´ all tires are just about gone. The standard dials come with the machine. When a couple of weeks have gone by I will reshod the dials with 215/60/15s, Leaning towards Yokos. It has less than 40,000 miles since I purchased the car. I have documents dating back to when this car was purchased in LA back in 78. The original owner moved to Virginia as did the car where it was purchased on 5/30/98 by an air force guy who moved it to Tennessee. He was shortly transferred to Mnt Home Idaho where most of the work was done to bring this car not only back to it´s original condition, but superior to the way it came out of the factory in Germany. I looked for a 911 for six months before finding this one. I purchased and had it shipped to Chapel Hill 9 years ago. I rebuilt the entire front end soon after I got the car home. There is really too much work to list but this car is an animal. I am hoping to sell it to a fellow enthusiast who knows these cars so they know exactly what the are getting. This is a special car and I will miss it more than I will ever admit. Mechanically this car is a 10 Cosmetically it is around a 7 It turns heads and gets plenty of compliments but it is not a perfect garage queen and it is priced accordingly. It is a beautiful car, the paint glows. But there is some work that could be done. It is 33 years old. Must see! The six cylinder rear engine generates over 320 horsepower with a total weight under 3900 pounds makes this one of the most fun cars to drive on the road. The car is in excellent condition with just over 52,000 miles on it . It performs and handles like the fine piece of german engineering it is .Manual 6 speed transmission and transaxle are in tip top shape as is the clutch , suspension, brakes and tires ,Cosmetically , the vehicle is in good to very good condition, paint has a nice lustre and the interior is in very good condition .With a very small additonal investment the car would be in excellent condition.
