Details: Up for sale is a 1987 Porsche 944s with 95,000miles. It is clean and all original (minus aftermarket wheels and exhaust). I have owned the car for about two years, but the person who owned it before me was a personal acquaintance. He had the car for nearly 20 years and put several thousands into the maintenance and some repairs. The leather seats are in immaculate condition with no cracks or tears. The dashboard has a minor crack but the floor mats are clean. ZERO RUST. Feel free to eat of the engine if you want, because it is surely clean enough. The owner before me purchased the car with an aftermarket exhaust on it (not excessively loud) and aftermarket wheels. I put on the yellow fog lights and clear front turn signals. I have the original wheels but they are in Pittsburgh and in bad shape. The wheels that are on it now have been on the car since 1990. The Potenza Tires are in very good shape. Clutch replaced around 60,000miles, still grips very nicely! New head gasket at 40,000miles. Several other major mechanical fixes were done. I just had a new rack and pinon steering put in ($1,000+ repair). She does need tune up (spark plugs, oil change, etc) as it has been sitting for a month. I did drive it last week for about an hour just to keep everything up to date. However, it does not start right now. I think it is either a battery or a starter. We have tried jumping it to no avail so it is a dead battery or starter in the worst case scenario. The reason it´s priced so low is because I have put nearly what I paid for it in to the engine. I just want to cut my loss´s at this point. This car books at $4,500 in this condition. I am FIRM on the price, although cash in hand makes a person do strange things. NO TRADES. It has less than 40,000 miles since I purchased the car. I have documents dating back to when this car was purchased in LA back in 78. The original owner moved to Virginia as did the car where it was purchased on 5/30/98 by an air force guy who moved it to Tennessee. He was shortly transferred to Mnt Home Idaho where most of the work was done to bring this car not only back to it´s original condition, but superior to the way it came out of the factory in Germany. I looked for a 911 for six months before finding this one. I purchased and had it shipped to Chapel Hill 9 years ago. I rebuilt the entire front end soon after I got the car home. There is really too much work to list but this car is an animal. I am hoping to sell it to a fellow enthusiast who knows these cars so they know exactly what the are getting. This is a special car and I will miss it more than I will ever admit. Mechanically this car is a 10 Cosmetically it is around a 7 It turns heads and gets plenty of compliments but it is not a perfect garage queen and it is priced accordingly. It is a beautiful car, the paint glows. But there is some work that could be done. It is 33 years old. Must see!
