If you buy this car, I´ll draw you a map of a couple of the best hidden drivers´ roads in the NC mountains.Never been in an accident.3.2 Liter Flat 6 ´Boxer´ engine puts out 250 horsepower. This engine is way more powerful than the 2.7 liter in the standard Boxster. If you are Boxster shopping, make sure you test drive an ´S´ model, too. The difference is night and day -- you won´t even consider the base model after driving the ´S.´The wheels are upgraded 18-inch SportTechnos.The ´S´ model brakes are ´Big Red´ Brembos and are staggeringly good at what they do.I´m including the original hard top with a rear window defroster.Underneath the hard top is an upgraded convertible soft top. Unlike the original soft top, which had a plastic rear window, this new top has a glass rear window with an integrated window defroster. I upgraded it a couple of years ago. Hendrick Porsche did the work.This Boxster S was ordered with the optional rear windowed wind deflector.The original ´fried egg´ halogen headlights with the ugly orange turn signal lenses have been replaced with genuine all-clear Porsche 911 Litronic HID (xenon) headlights. I´ve still got the original headlights if you´d prefer to downgrade to the originals.The orange side markers have been replaced with the genuine Porsche European clear versions. I´ve still got the ugly orange ones if you´d prefer to downgrade to the originals.The taillights with the orange panels have also been replaced with the genuine Porsche European red/clear versions. I´ve still got the ugly originals again if you´d like to downgrade (see a trend here?).The original gold Porsche hood crest has been replaced with an OEM hood crest that has been stripped and plated in chrome to better match the Arctic Silver exterior paint. I´ve got the original (not ugly) gold crest if you´d prefer to downgrade to it.I replaced the OEM Becker CDR-220 head unit with a Clarion unit. The Clarion unit plays MP3 discs and has a hookup for your iPhone/iPod/etc. . . as well as connections to easily add Sirius satellite radio. I´ve still got the Becker unit if you´d prefer to keep things original and genuine Porsche. I haven´t regretted the excellent Clarion unit since the day I installed it despite being concerned originally by going non-OEM on this one.I´ve got both remote keys, the original toolkit/spare and the original books from Foreign Cars of Italia in Greensboro, where it was originally purchased.I´m the second owner and have owned this Boxster S for about 8 years. It had about 30,000 miles on it when I purchased it. I am really going to hate to see it go but I find solace in the fact that I´ll be replacing it with another Porsche.This Boxster S was ordered with the alumalook package.This Boxster S was ordered with the carbon fiber gear shift and hand brake package.This Boxster S was ordered with the sport package. It´s never been a maintenance-free car, but it´s always been fun and owning one has been a really valuable experience. The major issues have been taken care of; new clutch, water pump, timing belt, alternator etc... The bulk of the work was done by an experienced porsche mechanic before I moved away and assumed all responsibility. The car has some cosmetic issues. The paint is not in the best shape, but it still manages to get compliments. The windshield is cracked. The car has no AC; I installed a Lindsey Racing AC Delete bracket a few years ago. The car´s original radio was replaced before I owned it, so the first time that work was done that involved disconnecting the battery, the radio thought it was stolen and required a security code, which neither I nor the previous owner had. Details: This a 1979 Porsche 928. It is a factory 5 speed with a 4.6 V8. 46,600 original miles. The car runs very strong and has been kept up with its services. I have service records for the work I have had done. I have installed the following items: Momo steering wheel, Recaro seats, reupholstered the interior panels, Audiobaun stereo with Infinity speakers, carbon fiber strut brace, K&N air filter, MSD coil, Koni adjustable racing shocks on all 4 corners, TSW 18´ wheels with Continental tires ( 75% tread), rebuilt the trans-axle (done by Touring Cars of Stallings), installed a Southern Air A/C unit. This a very fast car and is a lot of fun to drive. It is still considered to be a super car. It is #972 of #1600 sold in the US in 1979. The car is not perfect, it could stand a paint job, there is no rust, and it could stand some interior work.
