Details: Running and inspected 1983 Porsche 944. Good clutch, tires. Has adjustable shock option, soit handles great. Redone head and new belts. No major rust. Needs paint. Interior fair. Some replacementinterior parts are included. Complete car. Very dependable. I took it on several long trips and had no problems.The car has a minor leak in the cam tower gasket. It ran good all last summer, but I didnt drive it for a couple of month and it developed a miss when it warms up. Runs great when cold. I put a new fuel pump and filter on it, but it didnt help. I´ve been told its either a throttle positioning sensor or a mass airflow sensor. These can be picked up for very cheap on ebay. It could also just be a bad wire, crackedconnector, etc.I´ve been busy and havent had a chance to do anything with it all winter, and I´m not going to have the time in the foreseeable future, so I´m just going to cut my losses and get rid of it because I hate tosee it just sitting around. My loss is your gain.Hopefully someone else can have a good time with it.Price is $1200. Try to find another one that is running and inspected for that. The standard shift, 4-cylinder engine is great on gas mileage and the car only has 51,000 original miles on it. The clutch has no slip in it at all. Includes power windows and original Blaupunkt radio which still works, but the cassette player doesn´t. Moon roof works and is removable but I have not attempted to remove it since I bought the vehicle. Interior is completly original and in excellent condition for a 23 year old car. Included with the car but not shown in the pictures is a Porsche bra and aftermarket car cover. Car currently has a Classic plate which excludes it from emissions testing. Since I have owned the vehicle, it has never seen salt or snow and very little rain.History:I bought the car in 2003 with 45,000 miles and I believe was the 4th owner based on much of the original paperwork which I still have (including the window sticker). Car has been garage kept since I have owned it and based on the paint condition, its entire life. I put new tires, water pump, and timing belt on back in 2004 and they only have about 6,000 miles on them. I also put in a new battery about 3 years ago. Details: This is not your average Boxster, or Boxster S for that matter. The car only has 46k easy highway miles on it. It has nearly every prime option available, from the factory Porsche Aero Kit, to the Hardtop, to the 18´ Turbo Look Wheels, Litronic Headlights with washers, MJ01 Digital Sound System with Equalizer, so on and so forth. The car has a B&B Exhaust on it that gives it that smooth yet aggressive Flat 6 sound Porsche is known for, yet retaining quite low noise levels under normal driving and cruising. This is the only aftermarket part on the car, and its a quality piece with a quality sound. I have NEVER turned the Traction control off, dropped the clutch for a burnout, or launched the car. I do not beat my vehicles, period.This car has been above and beyond everything I had expected when I bought it, and then some. There are no mechanical flaws, at all. No check engine lights, ABS light, etc. The clutch grabs fine, the transmission shifts perfectly into all 6 gears including reverse with no grinds, pop outs, etc. The car has a Pennsylvania State Inspection good until august of this year and is 100% ready for sale. I have never had a problem with the car since I have owned it and has performed flawlessly in every way I could have imagined. The AC is ice cold, and the tan top works perfectly with no binding or other common issues, the plastic rear window is in good shape, no fading or wrinkling (always did the Boxster top chop). The OEM hardtop fits great and all seals are in brilliant shape! The drain holes under the top are not plugged up, and the interior is always dry, clean, and comfortable. The interior is grey leather with aluminum accents all throughout, it is in real nice shape besides very slight wear on the driver seat bolster. The paintwork is all original with nothing being resprayed at any point. The guy that ordered this car wanted one of the best Boxster combinations, in my opinion, over a 911. That puts it in perspective I suppose.There are a couple things to mention with it being a used car. Due to most of the miles being highway there are some rock chips, mostly contained to the hood. A small scuff on the lower passenger side of the front bumper, and a tiny little ding on the driver side front fender that is hardly noticeable. Lastly there are some slight scratches on the top of the hardtop that I would guess came from being stored at some point. Thats about it.Blue Book Values with options taken into account:Blue Book Suggested Retail Value - $24,300.Blue Book Private Party Value In Excellent Condition - $22,225.Blue Book Private Party Value In Good Condition - $21,525.Blue Book Private Party Value In Fair Condition - $20,375.This is very important and should be understood by everybody.The car did have a salvage title, it is now reconstructed meeting all of Pennsylvanias strict requirements. For those that dont know, the car was required to meet all factory tolerances by law, and retains original paint all around. Most states dont even require a salvage vehicle to be properly fixed, or even have inspections to pass before legally being able to return it to the road (some have no inspections period), yet alone a very strict one requiring factory tolerances and specs covering all aspects of the repair to be met. THIS is the difference between salvage and reconstructed, and it is a big difference. Pennsylvania law requires a reconstructed vehicle to be as good or better than it was brand new, and there is a specific intensive inspection not performed by regular inspection stations, that is required to be passed in order to earn the reconstructed status. If this isnt met the car retains a salvage status and cannot be driven on PA roads, period. Dont view this as buying a salvage vehicle from a state with no regulations on how they are fixed and therefor returned to the road. Being a salvage car in PA means that the car by law HAS to be fixed 100% textbook to ensure road and passenger safety before it ever sees the streets again. Clean title PA cars that sustain major damage but are not totaled can be fixed as cheaply and haggardly as you want, there are no requirements to meet before that car is returned to the road as a clean title vehicle, now which sounds more sketchy? This car was fixed properly and has no noticeable differences between a clean title Boxster, at all. And i have the Carfax along with more than enough photos to verify that. Knowledge is primary, stereotypes are misleading.
