Born as a 1982 911SC coupe, the original owner (California) had it converted into a Speed Yellow 993 Turbo Cab tribute. It has all 993 widebody turbo steel fenders, flairs and rockers and the welds and fabrication was of excellent quality. It has a recently rebuilt 930 turbo engine (see detailed specs below) and as well as a recently rebuilt 915 5 speed transmission. Owned by a mechanic, it has a huge number of replaced and updated parts. It has never been raced, has both heat and air conditioning and is a real pleasure to drive.The engine puts out well over 400 hp at the crank (in a 2700 lb car - do the power to weight ratio). The basic engine machine work (line bore, shuffle pinning, etc) was performed by Ollies in California. Full balancing (crank, rods, pistons, pressure plate) was performed by Dennis Shaw Racing. The wastegate dumps directly into the exhaust pipe at full boost and the non-recirculating blowoff valve lets you know when you come off of the throttle. It has power brakes but no power steering. You can feel every nuance of the road. I´m really going to miss this car.Faults - Carpet and interior shows some wear. The engine seeps just a little bit of oil - not a problem (less than my 1996 C2). After market wheels require extra spacer. A total of 12,831 944Ss were built for 1987 and 1988, with 8,703 imported into the U.S. I just put over $2500 in repairs into the car in the past 3 months. The odometer broke about 3 moths ago at 162,000, but it has spent most of the summer in the shop getting some problems with the engine ironed out. Now it runs smoothly and has nice power. The suspension and steering are very tight. The timing belt and water pump were inspected and OK´d by Motorsports International in Bridgewater. Details: This 1982 Porsche 944 is very rare. The 944´s in the United States were not available until 1983. The vehicle was manufactured in West Germany in 1982 and shipped to the US. It has been fully restored from head to toe and has only 60K original miles! The front suspension has been rebuilt and retro fitted with all polyurethane bushings. The interior is refurbished with Porsche original materials. A full Transmission overhaul was performed. It is equipped with the R.O.W. engine that was only offered in the European 944´s. All of the factory recommended services have been performed with receipts to show. This is an impeccable Porsche to cruise in with a price tag under 9K! I am retired and need room for my new project.
